TENTIPI - ADVENTURE TENTS
It is cold outside. The wind that crackles through the Norwegian night pulls the temperature down to -20°c, a temperature that seems all the more chill when stepping from the warm confines of the tents and in to its biting teeth. Inside the main tent, a open brasier heats the ‘room’, the heavy smell of woodsmoke combines with the occasional acrid wiff of burnt rubber as someone leaves their boots too close for too long in an attempt to warm their toes. In the smaller tents, tiny woodburners do their best to stave off the chill. Inevitably at some point in the night their fire turns to embers and then cools, allowing the last vestiges of heat to be sucked away. We awoke in the morning more than once to the crackle of ice on the ouside of our sleeping bags.
Tentipi Nordic tipis are based upon the traditional design principles of the Sami kåta, coupled with innovative new design, and the latest materials and construction techniques.
Captured in Norway on the Hardangervidda Plateau.
